I qualified with SMAE in 1994 & have been a member of the HCPC since 2004.
I am as passionate now about good footcare as when I first qualified and have been fortunate enough to work around a family life, part-time & full-time. I have a surgery in the Petersfield/Liss area, as well as a few domiciliary patients who were some of my first clients. I sing with Rock Choir (don’t ask!), love walking with the dog (& husband!) & more recently enjoying the antics of 2 grandchildren.
Administration / Vice Chair
Having previously worked as an SRN has given me an understanding of many foot health related issues. In 2003 I retrained as an FHP and have not looked back. I enjoy the independence of being able to offer great foot care to lovely patients. Being part of the SCP&FHP has given the opportunity to learn and share many laughs with good friends and colleagues.
I now work very part time, giving me time to enjoy walking in our village, reading, drawing and painting 😊
I have been very fortunate to have had a 30 year career in Chiropody, I have never regretted my choice.
I feel great satisfaction, from giving my patients comfort and keeping them mobile with good foot care and giving a listening ear, when needed.
What a great profession.
I do believe, it is a great asset to belong to a group like ourselves, to share and learn new ideas from colleagues and the wealth of knowledge from our speakers.
In my spare time, I love to walk in the forest with my husband and our dogs.
My other joy is sewing, especially patchwork and quilting.
After working for British Telecom for 22 years, I started working as a Chiropodist in 1994.
I am now semi- retired and am the Treasurer of Southern Chiropodists Association.
In my spare time I enjoy walking, cycling and Kayaking.
I am married with two sons, two step daughters, and 3 grandchildren.
I have lived in Bursledon for over 45 year and Sarisbury Green before that. Qualified as a Chiropodist in 1995 whilst serving in the Royal Navy and have enjoyed providing footcare to the community ever since. Have been a member of the local Chiropody Association for over 25 years and now helping it as part of the committee.
I worked as a nursing auxiliary before commencing my SRN training in London. I stayed home until my youngest child was at secondary school by which time I had become a full time carer for my mum-in-law. I then trained as a Foot Health Practitioner and love my work which feels more like a pleasure than a job. I enjoy the opportunities to learn new skills through the SCP&FHP association. Working part time gives me the chance to enjoy gardening and various activities with my church community.
Member / Previous Chair
Hi there, I’m Sue. I did my Chiropody training from 1968-71 and was a practitioner until I recently retired. I was a founder member of this group back in 1975 and have had the privilege of meeting many lovely colleagues over the last nearly 50 years. Since retiring, I’ve really enjoyed having more time to spend tending the garden and playing tennis three mornings a week. As a lot of my clients used to say, I don’t know where the time goes!
